Years of Service in District 6

13 years

"The primary reason I remain dedicated to Northridge and District 6 is the sense of community. Seeing so much of my own experience reflected in the student body, I believe students simply need someone they can connect with - a mentor to show them that if I can succeed and serve as a ray of light, they can as well. The teachers here at Northridge are deeply invested in our students. We are committed to impacting lives, encouraging them to believe in themselves, and helping them grow into positive, contributing members of our community."

When you think about your experience in our district, what makes you feel proud to work here?

"My pride in being an educator within District 6 stems from our unwavering belief in providing a rigorous academic foundation for every student, regardless of their background, race, or gender. We are committed to the idea that all learners deserve a culturally rich and diverse educational journey. As an evolving organization, District 6 continually strives to remain at the forefront of innovation, actively seeking every opportunity to enhance the learning experience and foster growth within our entire community."

What keeps you feeling connected to and supported by our school community?

"The profound sense of connection I feel within our school community stems from the genuine visibility we share; it is a place where very individual is known by name. Whether engaging with District leadership or site-based administrators, there is an approachable atmosphere characterized by transparency rather than barriers. This spirit of camaraderie among our staff is truly incomparable, as colleagues consistently demonstrate a willingness to support one another in any capacity. This collaborative essence is the cornerstone of our community. It is about fostering a true sense of FAMILY!! WE ARE GRIZZLIES!!"

What's a fun fact about your job?

"The deep fulfillment I find in my work comes from broadening the horizons of our students while embracing the chance to share my rich culture and native language with our entire school community."

What is one experience with a student or staff member that left a lasting, positive impact on you?

"A particularly rewarding experience involved a student who, after discovering a passion for language in my Spanish 1 course, pushed her boundaries as a developing learner to enroll in both Heritage 1 and 2. By fully immersing herself in our native classes and ultimately achieving success in AP Spanish as well, she exemplifies the drive for bilingualism and the boundless opportunities we provide at Northridge to cultivate academic excellence."
