"One thing that makes me want to stay in D6 is the people. I get the opportunity to work with principals, teachers, support staff, and district leaders across all grade levels, and there is a genuine commitment to doing what is best for kids. Even when challenges arise, people are willing to have conversations, learn, and grow together. I feel valued because the work of building relationships and supporting students is recognized as important, and I am trusted to help lead that work. Being part of a district that invests in people and is committed to continuous improvement makes D6 a place where I enjoy coming to work every day."   

When you think about your experience in our district, what makes you feel proud to work here? 

"I'm proud to be part of a district that truly cares about kids, values relationships, and is always looking for ways to get better. Knowing that my work helps support that mission is something I take a lot of pride in."   

What keeps you feeling connected to and supported by our school community? 

"What keeps me feeling connected and support is the relationships I've built across the district. In my role, I get the chance to work with staff at every level, and I'm constantly reminded that we're all working toward the same goal - doing what's bet for kids. I appreciate that people are willing to collaborate, share ideas, and support one another when challenges come up. Like Dr. Pilch always says: Better Together."  

What's a fun fact about your job? 

"A fun fact about my job is that I get to work with people from across the entire district every day. As a true people person, one of my favorite parts of the job is building relationships and collaborating with our administrators, teachers, and support staff. Every day brings new conversations, new challenges, and new opportunities to support others, which keeps the work exciting and rewarding."   

What is one experience with a student or staff member that left a lasting, positive impact on you? 

"I really value those 'aha' moments, whether they happen with students or staff. One conversation with an administrator earlier this year has especially stayed with me. She was initially very skeptical and struggling to connect with the idea of restorative practices. However, through several conversations that went beyond the work itself and into her experiences and how she shows up as a person, she began to have a shift in perspective. In that moment, she realized that she had been practicing restorative approaches all along, but had a different impression of what restorative justice work in the district actually was. It was powerful to see that change in understanding and the confidence that came with it."

If there is one individual who truly embodies the spirit of District 6 and demonstrates why people choose to build their careers here, it is Jeremy Hayden.

Jeremy's connection to District 6 is deeply personal. A proud graduate of Greeley Central High School's Class of 1998, he is a product of the very schools he now serves. Rather than taking his talents elsewhere, Jeremy chose to invest them back into the community that helped shape him, dedicating his career to supporting the students, families, and staff of Greeley-Evans School District 6.

Over the years, Jeremy has impacted countless lives in a variety of roles, but many students and families know him simply as "Coach Hayden." As the longtime Head Football Coach at Northridge High School, he has been far more than a coach—serving as a mentor, role model, and trusted adult for generations of student-athletes. His commitment has always extended beyond wins and losses, emphasizing character, accountability, teamwork, and building meaningful relationships.

Today, Jeremy serves as the District's Restorative Practices and Prevention Coordinator, a position created through the Department of Justice STOP School Violence Grant to strengthen early intervention efforts and build positive school climates across District 6. The district has emphasized restorative practices as a critical component of supporting students, improving relationships, and preventing conflict before it escalates.

Jeremy was uniquely suited for this role. His years of experience working directly with students, combined with his authentic leadership style and deep understanding of the Greeley community, have helped establish a strong foundation for restorative practices throughout the district. He approaches every interaction with empathy, accountability, and a genuine belief that every student deserves the opportunity to learn from mistakes, repair relationships, and succeed.

What makes Jeremy truly representative of The D6 Difference is his unwavering commitment to giving back to the community that gave so much to him. He has spent his career investing in young people, building trust with families, supporting colleagues, and creating environments where students feel seen, valued, and connected. His work reflects District 6's mission of supporting the whole child while fostering safe, caring, and inclusive schools.
