Years of Service in District 6

1 year under contract. 12 completed as a District Employee.

"Even though I am a very small piece of the puzzle with many intricate moving parts, the teamwork of us all working together, including my direct input, means what I have to say matters and is valued."

When you think about your experience in our district, what makes you feel proud to work here?

"While my position does not directly impact individual student success, I take pride in being a resource for the employees who do. By assisting with the many complexities of health insurance issues that can cause undue stress, I help ease one potential burden from their day. I have always said that if I can take even a small amount of stress off an employee who works directly with children, it can positively impact their day, and in turn, the students they serve."

What keeps you feeling connected to and supported by our school community?

"After being here for over 12 years now, I have had the opportunity to see a community go from always saying 'no' to a 'yes' when it pertains to school improvement, and this does not happen by chance. It comes from consistent communication, collaboration, and leadership making our voices known and important."

What's a fun fact about your job?

"My phone rings, and it means someone needs my help. Every day is different because no tow employees are the same, and their situation keeps me always thinking. I am kind of a behind the scenes problem solver. It's rewarding for me to know that I may be able to take a little bit of that day-to-day stress off of someone in need."

What is one experience with a student or staff member that left a lasting, positive impact on you?

"I can honestly say there are too many to use just one example. Helping staff members navigate complex health benefit situations during a really stressful time in their life. It reinforces whey I value this work because at the end of the day, it's about caring for people and helping them feel supported when they need it most. This impacts me in such a positive way that it's like therapy to me."
