"One thing that makes me feel valued and want to stay with District 6 is the supportive and collaborative culture. As an Admissions Assistant, I appreciate how willing colleagues across schools and departments are to help one another and work together to support students and families, along with ensuring families feel welcome into our District 6 family. Knowing that my work contributes to helping families successfully enroll and access educational opportunities makes my role meaningful and rewarding."  

When you think about your experience in our district, what makes you feel proud to work here? 

"What makes me feel proud to work in District 6 is the impact we have on students and families every day. In my role in Admissions, I see firsthand how our team works to make the enrollment process welcoming and accessible. I'm proud to be part of a district that prioritizes supporting families and ensuring students have the opportunity to succeed from the very beginning."    

What keeps you feeling connected to and supported by our school community? 

"What keeps me feeling connected and supported is the strong sense of community within District 6. I see it in the way staff, families, and schools come together to support students and make sure they feel welcomed and included. Being part of a district that values relationships and works closely with the community, makes me feel grounded in my role and proud to contribute to that connection." 

What's a fun fact about your job? 

"A fun fact about my job is that no two days are ever the same. In Admissions, I'm constantly helping different families with unique situations, so I get to learn something new almost every day."   

What is one experience with a student or staff member that left a lasting, positive impact on you? 

"One experience that had a lasting impact on me was helping a monolingual family who was new to the district and overwhelmed with the enrollment process. They were unsure of what documents they needed and how to get started. Being able to communicate with them in Spanish and walk them through each step made a big difference. By the end of the process, they felt more confident and relieved. That experience reminded me how important it is to make families feel supported and understood form the very beginning."
