Honoring the Life of John W. Haefeli

Haefeli, an educator, coach, Board of Education Director, community advocate and true champion of public education. John was an outspoken supporter of students and staff in District 6, a true philanthropist and mentor who positively impacted the lives of countless students during his career.

As part of an effort to listen to families, District 6 hosted three Family Listening Sessions this year. Superintendent Dr. Deirdre Pilch, district administrators, school principals, staff from the District 6 Family Center and parent advocates from schools across the district met twice with families from Title 1 Schools (our highest poverty schools) and once with the general district population.

Career exploration in Greeley-Evans School District 6 is on the move. The D6 Discovery Lab travels to K-8 and middle schools throughout District 6 to help students learn more about Career Pathway offerings at high schools and possible careers they may want to  explore. With all the pathway choices in District 6 - from culinary arts to welding - the choices may seem overwhelming to younger students.

The Board of Education will meet Monday, June 9, 2025 in the first floor Board Room at the District 6 Administration Building at 1025 9th Avenue. The Work Session begins at 4:00 p.m. in the Aster Conference Room. The Business Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, and will stream LIVE on our YouTube channel.

Keeping students and staff safe at schools is always the first priority in Greeley-Evans School District 6. The Department of Safety and Security has three full time administrative staff who are former police officers, as well as three professionals who work with schools to ensure safety protocols are in place and enforced every day. The department also employs 25 campus monitors who provide additional safety and security support to schools.

Colorado Teacher of the Year Seminfinalist

A Greeley Central High School social studies teacher has been named as one of 22 semi-finalists for the 2026 Colorado Teacher of the Year. Stephen Paulson is a social studies and AVID teacher at Greeley Central and has been an educator for 14 years. Previously, he has won Greeley Central Teacher of the Year (2024) and Greeley-Evans School District Teacher of the Year (2021) awards.
