Mrs. Kirby was born and raised in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley and considers herself a country gal. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from James Madison University. After moving to Colorado, she worked in retail management for many years. Eventually she realized her true calling in life and enrolled at CSU to earn her teaching license and Masters in Education. She has been a member of the Wildcat Faculty since 2005.
Mrs. Kirby teaches social studies because she LOVES SOCIAL STUDIES! She attributes this passion to her experiences with history in government growing up. She was surrounded by local and state government and frequently visited Washington, D.C. The summer before her senior year in high school, she was fortunate enough to be chosen to serve as a US Congressional Page! What better for a history/government nerd than living and working on Capitol Hill for a summer?!
In her spare time, Mrs. Kirby enjoys traveling, jigsaw puzzles, sewing, and spending time with her husband, four girls, and friends.
