Hello! I am Melissa Flores. I have worked in WCSD6 for my entire academic career. I started as a special education paraprofessional with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. As a paraprofessional, I fell in love with teaching and chose to work through my master’s degree and received my Special Education Generalist degree//teacher licensure in 2016. I began my academic career at Franklin Middle School and was there for 10 years. I wanted to grow my teaching experiences and decided to apply for a high school position so that I can help students with graduation and post-secondary goals. I immediately felt at home when meeting with Jefferson High School’s administration and staff. I am so excited to have a new teaching position at Jefferson. I am honored to serve Jefferson’s students and help them successfully graduate and transition to post-secondary life. On my off time, I enjoy music, meditation, gardening/plant care, painting, spending time with family and friends, and going on solo outdoor adventures.
