Ms. Rachel Owusu

My name is Rachel Owusu and I am a first year school social worker in District 6. I feel very thankful and thrilled to be working in this District and hopeful to continue the good work Suzannah did for you and your students. This year is going to be filled with growing, learning, and exploration. Needless to say, I cannot wait to get to know your students and continue to support them in whatever capacity they may need. 

First, I will want to take a moment and share a little bit about myself. I am from Denver, Colorado. I attended Colorado State University and obtained my BA in Sociology and Political Science in 2020. Then, I recently graduated with my Masters in Social Work from the same University. I chose social work because I want to be able to inspire students to believe in their abilities and give them the tools they need to navigate this world. 

This will be my first year as a school social worker and I consider myself lucky to pursue my passion in elementary and middle school. I would like to reiterate that I am available to all students, parents, and collaborators as a support to all student’s success.
