Mr. Cruz Rodriguez

Hello Centennial family! I am Cruz Rodriguez and this is my first year teaching! I am super excited about meeting students and families! I did my student teaching at Greeley West High School and Madison Elementary during my time at the University of Northern Colorado. Go Bears!! At Madison Elementary, I realized how lucky I would be to work at the elementary level with the best students and families. I feel very fortunate to be hired at Centennial  back in May 2022 and very thankful to be here and I cannot wait to meet all of you! I grew up going to Denver Public Schools from K-12 and I believe I had the best teachers ever growing up, which inspired me to become a teacher myself. I feel very lucky to have what I believe is the most important job in the world, which is teaching! Lucky for me, I get to teach P.E, which is a bit of a bonus to me.

I am from Denver, Colorado and both my parents are from Chihuahua, Mexico. They both made a home in this great country when migrating from Mexico when they were teenagers. I am the first in my family to graduate from college and that is thanks to my parents and teachers who have given me all the support and resources I needed to succeed. I have two siblings, Priscila, who attends Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and Luis, who is a certified Diesel Mechanic. I believe family is EVERYTHING and I intend to make Centennial my family while working with the best staff to ensure student success and happiness!

I believe that with hard work anyone can achieve anything they want! I believe one can only control one's attitude and effort and everything else is not really in our "control". I believe no one can hide from failure, but it is the best learning tool anyone can ever have. In my class we are all life-long learners and we are going to be safe, respectful, productive, and hard working while having FUN! We are going to have a smile to back us up from a tough day and a positive attitude to take on a new day!
