Elementary Education w/English Emphasis BA from UNC

Ms. Tammy Vatrano

I taught kindergarten at Milliken Elementary school for my first three years of teaching and was very excited when the opportunity to join the amazing team at Chappelow presented itself. There is something extra special about working in a place where students and their families have chosen to be a part of the school.

I love teaching younger students because they still find so much joy in learning. I want every student to be excited about learning new things with me and to love school as much as I did as an elementary student. The very best part of being a teacher is watching a student finally master something they have worked hard to learn.

When I am not at school, I love spending time with my two kids, Nick and Alli, and our two dogs, Baxter and Lola. We enjoy camping at the lake or in the mountains in the summertime. In the fall and winter we spend a lot of time at the hockey rink. My son began skating when he was five and joined organized hockey when he was eight. He now plays at the competitive level and it is still one of my favorite pastimes to watch him and his teammates work together on the ice. My daughter is a free spirit who loves music and all animals. She and I both enjoy spending some of our free time at home relaxing with our dogs. When I can find the time, I love putting together craft projects to decorate my home.

I grew up in Northern Colorado, attending elementary through high school in Loveland and later attending college at UNC in Greeley. I love this area and can't imagine ever living anywhere else. I am grateful to be at this great school with such amazing students, families, and staff members.
