Abel Haro

Migrant Youth Advocate

Abel Haro is beginning his sixth year at Greeley/Evans School District with the Migrant Education Program at Franklin Middle School. Abel started his path to education at Aims Community College and then the University of Northern Colorado. He received his undergraduate degree in Communication Studies with a Minor in Spanish Language. Abel started working in education as a special education para and moved his way up to his current role as a Migrant Education Graduation Advocate for District 6. Before taking on his current role as an advocate, he spent time working as a farmer, landscaper, and substitute teacher.

From transitioning to working in education, Abel has continued his own education with a graduate degree from Adams State University. At Franklin, he helps and advocates for Migrant students and their families to overcome any obstacles that prevent them from obtaining a proper education. He loves to connect with students and assist them in any way possible. In his free time, he likes to be outdoors in the high country, hiking, biking, sightseeing or camping.
