Hello!

My name is Kristen Maldonado and I am SO excited to be teaching Art this year at Tointon! This will be my 17th year teaching, all of it here in Greeley. I will primarily be teaching K-3 this year but will get to work some with the older grades too. Tointon is a dream school for a creative person like me to be, we are going to have so much fun! I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in K-12 Art Education with an emphasis in Painting. I am currently working on my Master's in Art Education. In addition to teaching, I have painted professionally for years, selling my paintings in galleries and online, while also teaching social painting classes to all ages. I believe everyone is an artist, you just have to find what inspires you! Creating art activates the "happy" parts of the brain which leads to stress relief, better focus, and confidence building, something we can all benefit from. I live in Windsor with my 3 crazy boys, Albert (my husband), Marty who is four, Emmett who is two, and our dog, Loxie. I love to craft, garden, cook, see live music, watch movies and spend time with my family in my spare time.
