Mrs. Amy Solana
2022-2023 marks my 24th year in education in Colorado Public Schools. I am thrilled to begin my third year with District 6. District 6 students, staff, and families are AMAZING!!! I spent 22 years in the classroom teaching Resource, Multicategorical Needs, Affective Needs, and Early Childhood Special Education. For the past two years, I was privileged to be a Preschool Lead in the Early Childhood Education Program here at D6. I am thrilled to be a Tointon Engineer! I look forward to partnering with staff, students, and families for student success and growth.
My philosophy as a Dean is to focus on the positive and wonderful in every student and to intentionally and consistently model TOINTON behaviors with integrity. As a previous Special Educator, I bring to every learning experience, an array of proven training and behavioral support methods and models to my practice and interactions with students & staff. I am a true believer that every staff member & student needs to first feel valued and supported, and that we are all essential team members in providing this for each other. It truly takes a community to raise and support a child. My first priority will always be the safety and security of our students and staff, and will always be at the forefront of every decision I make and every challenge I face.
My husband and I love to spend the majority of our free time enjoying Colorado's Great Outdoors. We enjoy swimming, running, cycling, camping, hiking, skiing, climbing... you name it, it's fun! We love wrangling our kids to join us in adventures. I also enjoy trying new recipes, spending time with workout buddies, and drinking tea.
