“Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way.” – George Evans
I grew up in Sterling and moved to Greeley in 2004 to attend UNC. I received my BA in Elementary Education in 2008 and my MA in Educational Leadership in 2015. I have a passion for learning and to help others. This is my fifth year teaching first grade and my forteenth year at Monfort. I also have experience in second, third, and fourth grade. When I am not with my students, I spend time with my husband Dustin and my children Darcy, Leah, and Deacon. We love to be outside together.
I believe in relationships first. I have high expectations for all students, invest greatly in all of them, and do everything I can for each child to be successful socially, emotionally, and academically. With your help and support, this year will be a wonderful experience for your child. I look forward to the growth your child will make in my classroom this year.
Students should arrive to school at 8:35 am on Monday ONLY and 7:35 am Tuesday through Friday for FREE breakfast. They do not have to eat if they are not hungry. The tardy bell is at 8:45 and 7:45 am; instruction begins promptly. The dismissal bell is at 3:10 pm every day. Students may carry a backpack and masks are required for students as well as any adults entering the building through the main entry. Find more information on the on the District 6 website.
Please remember to visit my personal page on our Monfort site throughout the school year. I will post reminders and other helpful documents to make sure first grade is a success through the secure Bloomz app.
