Degrees and Certifications:
Classes Taught: 6th Grade International Languages French, 7th Grade Spanish A, 8th Grade Spanish B and Career Explorations
Bonjour and Bienvenidos!
I appreciate your son or daughter's interest in foreign language or career explorations. I update the gradebook once a week and am always willing to accept late work for partial credit. Your son or daughter needs to make an appointment with me, and we will work together to improve his or her grade.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 348-3049 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A great opportunity exists for my foreign language students. If your son or daughter successfully completes Spanish A as a 7th grader and Spanish B as an 8th grader, then he or she can enter Spanish II as a 9th grader. This allows the student to complete their high school language requirements sooner and give him or her an opportunity to take an AP foreign language class. Most colleges list two or three years of foreign language as a requirement. It also sets your student up for sucess for the IB program. Currently, Spanish is the only language that is offered two full years, but French may be offered based on interest and numbers.
I've been teaching for 21 years and the majority of that has been in foreign language. I graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA and a double major in Political Science and Spanish. I continued my academic career at Eastern Montana College and earned my teaching credential in 1994. I earned my masters in middle school education at University of Northern Colorado several years ago.
My core belief is that every student should be a lifetime learner, and my primary responsibility is to encourage all students to reach their potential.
