Mescinna Korolainen

My name is Mescinna Korolainen. This will be my 14th year at Dos Rios Elementary as a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Teacher. I work with students who are learning English as their second language. My focus is to help students acquire English skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Before I was a CLD teacher, I taught Kindergarten, third, and fourth grades, making this my 25th year in District 6.

When I am not at Dos Rios, I spend time with my family. My husband and I have two boys. Our family loves visiting new countries and exploring new cultures, so we travel abroad every chance we get. I am also an avid reader, love to garden, and enjoy challenging puzzles.

While I am not a native of Greeley, I attended the University of Northern Colorado for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, and fell in love with the area. I have lived here for over 30 years now. I was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, and lived a number of years in Denver before coming to Northern Colorado. Greeley and the surrounding area have definitely become my home!
