Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jodee Mueller
My name is Jodee Mueller, and I am your Gifted and Talented Specialist at Scott. This my first year in this position. For the last 5 years, I was an Assistant Principal in District 6 at Jackson Elementary and the last three years at Monfort Elementary. Prior to working as an Assistant Principal, I was a 4th and 5th grade teacher at McAuliffe Elementary for 18 years. All of these experiences have prepared me to work with teachers, students, and parents in my new position.
Challenging students to do their absolute best is my passion. All students need to feel supported in their academic challenges. When students are pushing boundaries academically, they continue to learn and grow. In this struggle, students acquire new learning. As a GT Specialist, I will work directly with teachers and students on higher level thinking opportunities.
This year, I work at Scott, Shawsheen and Bella Romero Academy K-8.
My primary responsibilities are:
To collect data and identify students whose abilities and talents require special programming.
To work closely with teachers to ensure that they have the resources and support they need when working with gifted and talented students in their classrooms.
To partner with students and their families to support student strengths, challenges, and personal goals.
And to work directly with gifted and talented students on extensions and projects designed with their needs in mind.
