Meet your MSA Officers!
Hi! My name is Courtney Joyner. I am the MSA President for the 2017-18 school year. I am a Stay At Home Mom of 4 children. Two of my kiddos are here at Meeker, one in Kindergarten, one in 2nd Grade. I love spending time with my family and friends, camping, swimming, and playing outside. I have a daily need for Jesus, Coffee, and a Nap! I am excited to meet you and get to know you better this school year!
Hello! My name is Taylor Plumb and I am the MSA Vice President for the 2017-2018 school year. My oldest is a 1st grader this year here at Meeker, we have a 3 year old preschooler, and we are expecting our third daughter in December! I love any and all adventures that our family finds ourselves on…whether it be the mountains, the beach, or the grocery store, our time together is always time well spent! I look forward to getting to know more of you
Hi! I am Cambrie Martinez. I am the Treasurer for the 2017-18 school year for MSA. I live in Greeley with my husband and three daughters. I work at Greeley West High School. I have one child at Brentwood Middle School, one child in 3rd Grade here at Meeker, and a 3-year-old. I love reading, but I am a busy mom. So, I always have one or two audiobooks downloaded to my phone.
Hi! My name is Danny Nolan. I am the MSA Secretary for the 2017-18 school year. I work full time as a CAN for Good Samaritan Society and I am a Scentsy Consultant. I have one daughter in 4th Grade at Meeker. I spend my free time enjoying time with my family and friends. I love summer and everything related to the water.
MEEKER SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
Meeker has a parent group called “Meeker School Association” (also called MSA)! We are a very supportive group of parents that work with school staff to encourage and assist our students and teachers. Our primary goal is to provide the best possible educational experience for every child at Meeker Elementary School.
Meeker is a wonderful and warm environment that we all enjoy volunteering in! The parent group is a great way to get to know other parents, students in your child’s classroom, and the staff at Meeker. Our participation shows our students that their education is important to us, and in turn makes it important to them as well. We encourage all parents to participate in MSA, even if you can’t make it to the meetings. There are plenty of ways to participate: come to meetings, bring fun ideas, and volunteer to help - just to name a few. During meetings, we discuss current projects, funding needs for the school, and we propose and vote on upcoming ideas/needs for the school. All active members have a vote, meaning you can ALL have a voice!
MSA hosts a number of events each year at the school. Below are some of the things MSA funds annually to help our school grow and continue to support the education of our children:
- Fall/Spring Fundraisers
- Dinner for the teachers during conferences
- Holiday Gift Shop
- Help at the Book Fairs
MSA has also been involved in supporting the following initiatives to better the learning experience for the students of today and tomorrow:
- The Leader In Me implementation
- Recorders for Music
- 4th Grade Rendezvous
- Technology Devices
- Girls on the Run
- Watch DOGS
These are only some of the great projects and events that the Meeker School Association is involved in. Our goal is to aid teachers and staff in creating a wonderful learning environment for all of the children at Meeker. We want to invite you to join our next MSA meeting to see and hear what we do!
