Third grade is a memorable year. Students are transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. Multiplication is introduced at the beginning of third grade and facts through 10 need to be mastered by the end. Please practice multiplication facts at home. In writing, we extend a single paragraph to a multi-paragraph essay. We, the third grade teachers, plan each lesson based on Common Core standards while incorporating higher level thinking skills. Additionally, all third graders have the opportunity to take CMAS this year.
