Grade 6th

Hi! My name is Kelly Box.  This is my 22nd year teaching.  I began my career at Chappelow Middle School teaching 6th grade math. This was the last year Chappelow was open as a Middle School. I was hired to teach at John Evans Middle School for 6th grade Science.  I quickly learned that I missed Chappelow terribly and I returned to begin my 3rd year of teaching.  For the next 8 years, I taught 5th and 6th grade math.  

I was blessed with three beautiful children and soon realized that I didn't want to miss this precious time with them nor could I afford 3 babies in daycare.  I decided to be a stay at home mom.  I did however still teach during those 4 years.  I taught math at the Greeley Alternative Program at night.  

In 2013, I knew it was time to return to teaching full time.  I took a risk and applied at Chappelow for the only position they had open at the time which was 1st grade.  I was scared to death and they were crazy enough to hire me back!!  I taught 1st grade for the next 4 years.  

I  returned to my middle school life as the 6th and 7th grade math teacher in 2017.  

I have lived in Greeley since I was 18 years old.  I have been married to my husband for 20 years and we have three amazing children. I love watching my kids pursue their interests in swimming, hockey, lacrosse and volleyball.  When I am not ubering my kids across Northern Colorado,  I enjoy reading, watching the Broncos, crafting, walking my dogs and spending time with family and friends.  

I am so excited for the 2021-22 school year!
