• Hello Eagles!

I want you to know that I am thinking about and missing you every day we are not at school during this COVID19 closure.  I hope you are well. I would love to see pictures of any drawings or any other things you are creating while you are at home! I hope we can get back to making art together soon!

    Happy Days!

Eva Chinn: Art Teacher

The Madison Art Room

Hello, and Welcome to Art!

My name is Eva Chinn, and I'm very excited to be starting my 16th year of teaching art at Madison. In 2006, I graduated cum laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Art Education with an emphasis in pottery. I began my teaching career at Brentwood Middle School. In 2008, I came to Madison, and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to teach art to our students.

Art is a very important part of a child's education. In art, students learn to "think outside the box", to be a creative thinker, and to be a problem solver. In my art program, students are given the opportunity to experiment with a variety of mediums and styles of art. They are introduced to the artists who worked in these styles. We also learn about different cultures of the world and the importance of the art these cultures create. Students use their problem-solving skills to meet the expectations for each project. I love teaching art because I can give students the freedom to find their own solution to the art problem and that helps prepare them for challenges they will be faced with in the future.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help in art, please feel free to call or email me at the above number or address. Thanks for showing interest in the arts at Madison!
