Counselor: Class of 2025

Hi! My name is Kelly Meilinger and I'm the counselor for the GWHS Class of 2025. Some of my roles include Social/Emotional Counseling, Career and Academic Planning, GWHS I.B. Counselor, High School of Business Steering team member, LINK Crew Coordinator, and many more!

I'm originally from West Virginia, but Colorado drew me out with its beauty, adventure, and opportunity for outdoor fun! I moved here in 2010 to attend grad school at The University of Northern Colorado, and earned my Masters degree in School Counseling.  I don't plan on leaving any time soon!

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call, email, schedule an appointment online, or drop by my office. If you are ever struggling, please know that you are not alone. Check out our RESOURCES page and come see me. I’d love to meet with you and help in anyway that I can.

Lastly, follow @GWHSCOUNSELING on twitter for for important info. on scholarships, deadlines, and friendly reminders!

What is your favorite quote? "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." I also have about 100 other quotes I love on the walls of my office, so come check them out!

What is your favorite breakfast item? Coffee

What is your favorite sports team? North Carolina Basketball (Tar Heel born and bred)

Where did you go to college and what did you major in? For undergrad, I attended a tiny school in North Carolina called High Point University. I switched my major a few times, but fell in love with and got my B.S. in Psychology. I attended University of Northern Colorado for grad school, and earned my M.A. in School Counseling.

What advice do you have for students heading to college? Take every opportunity that comes your way and don't be afraid of change!
