School Health Clerk

I am a mother of two girls. They are six and five, so when I'm not helping sick and injured kids at work I'm helping sick and injured kids at home. I am a Registered Medical Assistant with my Associates Degree in Allied Health. I worked in Internal Medicine for 2 years before I took a year off to be a stay-at-home mom. In making the decision to go back to work, I had to weigh my options since I would have two kids in school and one only going half day. After careful deliberation, I decided to apply for the school district. My goal for this year is to make a difference in at least one students life and to help them all learn to take more responsibility in keeping themselves safe and healthy, but most importantly to keep them in school.

Since it is flu and cold season, I would like to let you know what our District 6 Exclusion Guidelines are:
  • Temperature of 100.5 or higher
  • Diarrhea that cannot be controlled or with abdominal pain, vomiting and/or fever
  • Vomiting more than 2 times in 24 hours or if the vomit is green or bloody, if the student has had a recent head injury, or if the student has a fever, diarrhea, stomach ache etc.

Please DO NOT send your student to school unless your student has been symptom free for 24 hours without medication.

As always, please remind your student to practice healthy habits at home!
