Mr. Michael Apodaca

Grade: Music

Michael Apodaca is very excited to be back teaching music at Monfort Elementary School where he taught for three years starting in 2007. Since 1995, he has been teaching elementary and middle school choral music in Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, and Greeley. During that time, Michael obtained his certification in Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, and Musikgarten methods. He has taught classes specializing in music for young children at Pasadena City College, Los Angeles City College, and California State University in Los Angeles.

Michael holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition from University of California in Santa Barbara, a Masters Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, and an Ed.S. Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Northern Colorado. He is also the director of Jubilate Choir for Centennial Children's Chorus in Fort Collins.

When he's not teaching, you'll find him in the mountains, or in a yoga studio, or teaching his daughters how to play Texas Hold 'em, or listening to live music somewhere.
