Before joining District 6, Dr. Thompson was an assistant principal and school leader in Weld County School District RE-3J for 6 years. Matt earned his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Northern Colorado, and earned his Doctor of Education Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Innovation, and Change at the University of Northern Colorado. In his current work at Dos Rios, he leads the Pedagogical Leadership Team while he serves as the liaison between the school and the supporting community organizations. Thompson was also previously an 8th grade English teacher at Weld Central Junior High.

"It is an honor to serve the students, staff and families of Dos Rios," Thompson said. "We are thoroughly excited to be in a position to continue the great work we have already begun, including as an International Baccalaureate World School."
