Hello and welcome to Greeley West High School! My name is Taylor Plantt, and this will be my fifth year teaching science here at West. As a graduate of the Greeley public school system, I care deeply about what it means to be a Greeley West student. After graduating from Greeley Central High School (don't hate me!), I went on to seek a degree in Electrical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. After a couple years, I realized my true passion fell in my tutoring and teaching assistant job rather than my engineering studies, so I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physics with an emphasis in Secondary Education. I later earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.
Some of my interests include engineering design, program creatiion, 3D printing, video games, and working in my wood shop. I am fortunate enough to have an amazing wife who teaches elementary school in the district. Together we have a beautiful daughter named Layla, two dogs: Mira and Poe, and a very larger cat named Gretel. Want to get to get to know me a little better? Here is a list of podcasts I thoroughly enjoy:
1.) Darknet Diaries (Stories about the dark side of the interent, hacking, data breaches, and more)
2.) Stuff to Blow Your Mind (Literally just a bunch of interesting things explained)
3.) Crime Junkie (A great true crime podcast)
4.) Sawbones: A Marital Tour of Misguided Medicine (A doctor and her comedian husband breakfown medical myths)
...I could go on for a while. Feel free to give me reccomendations or just talk about your favorite podcast!
