Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lynnette Lichner
I am so excited to have such a fabulous group of students this school year. I have been teaching for 4 years, and I love it more than I could have imagined. I earned my BA in elementary education with a minor in reading from the University of Colorado. I completed my student teaching in 4th grade and I knew that I had found my perfect fit. Teaching is my second career, and every year brings a new learning experience for me. I became a teacher to allow me to help children on a personal level, academically, physically, and emotionally. I enjoy working with the families of my students to ensure the success in school as well as at home for their learning. I am sure that I will learn as much from your child as they will learn from me. I joined the Meeker family in August of 2017. I love the positive atmosphere, the wonderful students and my amazing colleagues. We are a growing community with a common goal of doing what is best for our students and their families.
I have been married for 8 years. My husband, Scott, is a wonderful father to our 3 amazing children, Adam, Megan, and Johnathan. We also have 2 grandchildren who are the best gift to our growing family. Michael is beginning high school and Elizabeth is entering middle school this year. I also have two cats, Buddy and Josephine and one dog Lily. My family is very important to me, and I spend as much of my free time as possible with them. I love watching the Broncos play at home and live in person. My hobbies are hiking, coloring, painting, and doing yoga. We are originally from Texas and moved here ten years ago. We absolutely love Northern Colorado and found our forever home.
Please feel free to contact me anytime to discuss your child. I love hearing the fun that they are a part of at home with family and friends.
I anticipate a fabulous year of fun and learning for all of us!
Important information for our classroom:
Homework: Per District 6 policy, homework will be assigned nightly. It will be related to the material that is being studied for that day or week. The assignment that will be sent home will average approximately 25-30 minutes per evening, including 20 minutes of reading a book of their choice. I understand that families experience a variety of evening activities and on occasion there will be times that the homework may be a difficult thing to fit in. I would ask that you contact me via email or my classroom phone and let me know of your special circumstance so that I can work with you and your child to complete the home practice. Thank you for your dedication to your child’s academic success. I look forward to working with you closely to achieve a common goal.
My expectations are important to the culture and climate of my classroom. I feel that respect between your student and me is key to building a relationship and important for your student to feel safe. We spend a lot of time together and I pride myself on the feeling of community and family within in my classroom. With that being said, there are a few non-negotiables that each student will be expected to follow.
!. There is to be no fighting between students. That is the expectation inside and outside of my classroom.
2. Everyone will show each other respect and not speak when others are speaking.
3. Students are expected to raise their hand when they wish to speak, get out of their seat, or ask questions.
4. Each student will have jobs within the classroom on a rotating basis throughout the year. They are expected to perform those jobs on a daily basis.
5. Students will include each other in activities and their will be no bullying.
6. Most importantly, students are to have fun and enjoy their time at school.
Please feel free to let me know if you have questions regarding any of the expectations listed above.
