Greetings! My name is Angie McDowell. I am thrilled to start my 5th year as principal at Centennial Elementary! I have served in the Greeley-Evans School District 6 since 2004: I was the assistant principal at East Memorial (now Bella Romero Academy K-3), Maplewood, and Centennial and I taught grades 2, 3, 4, and K-5 Special Education. Prior to moving to Colorado, I taught for three years in South Dakota as a K-5 Special Education teacher.
I earned my doctorate degree in Educational Studies and Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. I earned my bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from Black Hills State University (BHSU) in Spearfish, SD. I also earned my master's degree from BHSU in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am passionate about education; I am a life-long learner and hope to share my passion for teaching and learning with others. I will support all students, families, and staff members by creating strong and positive partnerships between the school and home. I believe collaboration and open communication are key components in supporting the growth and success of all students. I value your input and hope you will contact me with any suggestions or concerns.
I am so excited for our students to return to school! Thank you for all of your support and collaboration as we work together to best support our students' needs. Please let me know what I can do to continue to best serve you and our students.
Sincerely,
Angie McDowell
