• PBIS-Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports
This is a school system which helps students become responsible for their own behavior and learning.  PBIS is based on the thinking that children are capable of showing appropriate behavior.  The ultimate purpose of PBIS is to create an environment where students are safe, happy, and able to learn to the best of their ability.  This system is differentiated in nature and intensity.  Every child is unique and receives attention based on their needs and strengths.
Positive behavior is rewarded with a variety of methods including PAWS tickets, weekly drawings for books, Hallway Paws rewards, quarterly assemblies, and rewards such as school t-shirts, and certificates for attendance for 98% or higher.  PBIS hosts family and community events to promote positive behavior at home and to encourage citizenship.
