Degrees and Certifications:
Hello Parents and Friends!
I have been teaching for 5 years. I am so happy to be part of such a wonderful community of educators at Scott Elementary. I graduated with a degree in Biology from The Master's College in California, and received my teaching license from Colorado Christian University. I have taught kindergarten, 2nd grade and this is my third year teaching 3rd grade.
I am married and together we have 7 children. As a family, we love to play cards, watch superhero shows and movies, and mostly just spending time together. My passions are teaching, painting, crafts, music, and physical activity.
I look forward to a great year with my students as they train to become superheros!! Thank you for allowing me to part of your student's life!
Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com or at 970-348-2245.
Welcome to 3rd Grade!
I am so excited to be your teacher this year. Below you will find some helpful information about procedures for our school year. Please let me know what questions you have.
Attendance & Arrival
Doors will open at 7:40 everyday. Students will be going straight to our classroom to begin the day. We will be entering at Door A, the main entrance. School begins at 7:50 everyday. If your child will be late or tardy, please call the office.
If your child is showing any signs of sickness, please keep them home. This is vital for us to continue to be safe and healthy this school year.
We will be leaving school from the same door you come in the mornings. I will be dismissing students with a staggered dismissal schedule:
3:05 - Walkers
3:07 - Bus/Van
3:10 - Parent/Car Pickup
Please have a planned spot to meet your child so they know where to go.
Usually, we do classroom community supplies but this year your child will be using their own supplies. Please label supplies for easy identification. Your student will need their supplies this week - I also recommend grabbing an extra box of crayons, glue, and EXPO markers for the year. Please have everything unwrapped before arriving at school.
Having a backpack will be useful in holding coats, lunch boxes, and any papers we will be sending home. Your child is expected to wear a mask everyday. If they do not have one, they will not be able to enter the building. This rule applies to anyone coming into Scott.
We eat lunch from 11:50-12:10 this year. We will be eating in our own classrooms. Your child can still get a school provided lunch - it will be a cold lunch provided in a paper bag - or bring their lunch from home. If your child is bringing a lunch from home, please make sure they have items that are easily opened themselves. This reduces the need of other people’s hands touching their food.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to come and eat with your child this year. Thanks for helping us with this!
Every night it is expected that your child read for 20-30 minutes. While we don’t keep track of this, I highly encourage you to make this a nightly routine.
Additionally, if work that was not completed in the classroom needs to be sent home, you’ll be notified so it can be done at home. I will also send home work that is completed poorly that needs to be fixed.
Please be in contact with me whenever you’d like thru one of the following ways:
1. Class DOJO- this is great for quick messages or notes. Our code is https://www.classdojo.com/invite/?c=CZRGHCJ . There is an app for both Android and iPhone.
2. Email - my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I check my email multiple times a day and will respond as quickly as possible. This is the best way to contact me.
3. Phone - You can call the school - 970-348-2245. If I am teaching, I will be unable to answer and you’ll need to leave a voicemail. I will call you back at a better time in the day.
4. Video - Meeting virtually instead of in person will be the best way to chat face-to-face this year. We will be doing all of our conferences this way, and can meet whenever you’d like. We can meet on Google Hangouts or ZOOM.
This year will be full of challenges and changes. Thank you so much for your support and patience as we navigate it together. Thank you for trusting me to be your child’s teacher!
