8th Grade Science

Karie Farland has been the 8th grade science teacher for 4 of her 7 years in education. Karie's path toward a career in education began with an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. After earning her degree, she spent several years working in the financial industry before changing careers, returning to college and earning a secondary teaching license and degree in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado. Currently, Karie is focused on continuing her education by working toward a Master’s degree in Science Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington. When not teaching, Karie can be found camping and traveling the United States with her husband and two sons. She also enjoys reading fiction and spending time with her dogs.
