Ms. Hannah Halferty

Hello Shawsheen Families!

My name is Ms. Hannah Halferty, and I am ecstatic to be a member of the Sparrowhawk Family! I am a preschool teacher who is passionate about working with children who have a variety of exceptionalities. I am Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and use ASL and PSE when communicating with adults and students.

It is always my goal to be intentional when teaching. I firmly believe that teaching a child HOW to think will ignite their love for learning through developmentally appropriate activities. Early childhood experiences are vital to the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development of each child, and healthy interactions with peers and trusted adults are essential for all children. It is my honor to be a teacher and facilitator of these learning experiences, and create a welcoming, safe, fun, and loving environment that is inclusive for all of my students.

I received my B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I have my Director's license from the Colorado Department of Education, and I am currently completing my M.Ed. in Early Childhood Special Education from Grand Canyon University.

A few of my favorite things: time spent with family, coffee, ice cream, kayaking, hiking, dancing, and spicy food!
