A message from Superintendent Dr. Deirdre Pilch:
Thank you again for your hard work during the 2019-2020 school year. It was a challenging year, and I am proud of how our District 6 staff rose up to serve our students.
It is our intention to return students to in-person learning on August 17. The starting date for students was pushed back two days to allow extra time for staff training on the protocols and guidelines for reopening our buildings to in-person learning.. More details and information will be provided to school staff by the principal when you return.
The situation around COVID-19 is constantly evolving. Guidance from health officials is changing nearly daily. While we have a plan for reopening, it is changing nearly every day. We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we move through reopening schools together.
We are doing everything possible to keep you and our students safe and healthy, and are working closely with state and county health officials to get guidance on best practices. Masks will be required for returning to school and work and now would be a great time for you to get comfortable wearing a mask in public if you aren’t already.
We are excited to have students back and learning in our schools in August! If you have any questions about this plan, please reach out to your principal or supervisor.
