Mrs. Christen Adler
Hello! My name is Christen Adler and I am thrilled to be Madison’s music teacher! My last name, "Adler," means eagle in German, so I was meant to be a Madison Eagle.
I have a bachelor's degree in music performance from Virginia Tech, a master's degree in music performance from the University of Michigan, and a master's in education from University of Northern Colorado. This will be my eighth year teaching music. In addition to being a music teacher, I am also a professional French horn player, having contracts with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boulder Chamber Orchestra.
I believe quality music education is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child. Research shows that music education helps kids with problem solving skills, improves concentration, and leads to higher test scores, particularly in math. It also leads to an increased awareness in cultural proficiency and sense of community. I am proud to be a music educator, and I am so fortunate to be able to share my passions with my students. In music class, students will learn music literacy skills, proper singing technique, a variety of instruments including recorders and ukeleles, and much more. Please feel free to e-mail me any time with questions or comments!
