Ms. Amy Ballard
Hello everyone! My name is Amy Ballard! I am excited to start my first year at Scott Elementary School as the Visual Arts Teacher. While this is my first year at Scott as a teacher, I was able to student teach at Scott in the spring of 2020. I am beyond excited and happy to be back, and I cannot wait to help our students create personal and amazing works of art.
I am a Colorado native. I was born in Boulder, Colorado but lived mostly in Lafayette, Colorado before attending college. I have an assocaites degree from Front Range Community College in the Arts in December of 2015, and I recieved my Bachlors in Art Education with a Minor in Psychology in May of 2020. I was given a lot of oppertunities in college that help me as an educator; including mental health first aid training and leadership training.
When I am not in the classroom, I am usually spending the time with my beautiful part mainecoon 4 year old cat Scooby (I absolutely LOVE cats!). I also love doing all of the things related to geek culture such as video games, movies, reading and singing along to musicals! I also am an avid photographer and am always willing to go soemwhere new and take amazing photos.
My goal for this upcoming year is to empower all of my students to recognize that they are all talented artists and people!
I strongly follow this Bob Ross quote: No mistakes in art, only happy accidents!
