Meet our new GEAR UP Tutors
The Gear Up Program has hired several tutors to support your student's academic outcomes, especially in Math and Language Art! Our tutors share their knowledge and heart with your students, so we would like to share a bit about our tutors with you.
Meet Zander Scott
Zander tutors Gear Up cohort students at Brentwood, Bella Romero 4-8, Franklin, and Heath in small group and whole classroom settings. Zander enjoys being a Gear Up Tutor because it allows him to help young people while also doing something he loves. He has found that his biggest impact on our students is helping them become more confident learners.
Zander is a 2nd-year college student at the University of Northern Colorado, majoring in Secondary Education with a Social Studies Concentration. He hopes to teach Middle School Social Studies after he graduates
Meet Guadalupe Torres Ramirez
Guadalupe tutors Gear Up cohort students at Brentwood Middle School in whole classroom settings. Her favorite part about being a Gear Up Tutor is building connections with the students and hearing their unique stories. Being bilingual in English and Spanish, Guadalupe believes the biggest impact she has had is supporting English Learners who sometimes have trouble accessing the classroom content due to the language barrier.
Guadalupe is a Junior at the University of Northern Colorado, majoring in Dietetics and Spanish. Guadalupe hopes to obtain a Master’s Degree in Dietetics and would love to support the health and well-being of youth as a school district nutrition services leader.
