Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a discretionary grant program from the U.S. Department of Education designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.

The GEAR UP grant will help build a college going culture within our schools by supporting college visits, career exploration and academic planning.  This 7-year partnership provides additional mentoring, advising, and tutor support to current 10th and 11th grade students attending Greeley Central, Greeley West, Northridge and Jefferson High School through their graduation from a District 6 high school.

  • Metro State Visits
    All District 6 High Schools

During the months of February and March, GEAR UP Cohort students will have the opportunity to participate in a Metro State College Campus visit. Students will have the opportunity to really feel what it's like to step foot onto a college campus. Activities include a campus tour facilitated by current Metro State students, financial aid information, admissions information and learn about the wide range of support services available to all students attending Metro State University. Students interested in attending this event need to speak with their GEAR UP advisor at their respective schools. If you'd like more information about campus and all programs available to students, click here -https://msudenver.edu/
