Madison Headlines & Announcements

Summer Meal Schedule.
Meals will be served Monday through Friday from May 22 through July 28. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided to those under the age of 18 at five sites this year: Dos Rios Elementary, Heiman Elementary, Tointon Academy of Pre-Engineering, McAuliffe STEM Academy, Maplewood Elementary. Breakfast will be served from 8-9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. No registration is necessary. Children can eat at any of the five sites. Adults can purchase breakfast for $2 and lunch for $4.50. For more information or to view menus, visit www.greeleyschools.org/kidseatfree.

Let’s celebrate our Madison rescue eagle! This is "Golden Eagle Male"! We are so excited to be helping to rehabilitate him with our donations! He'll be coming to Madison for a visit in May.

Immunization Announcement

Free and Reduced Meal Application
District 6 accepts meal benefit applications for the entire school year. The more families submit applications, the more potential funding our schools can receive. This funding is critical.

District 6 to host School Board Candidate Orientation
Greeley-Evans School District 6 will host a School Board Candidate Orientation on Monday, June 12 from 4 - 4:45 p.m. at the District 6 Administration Building, 1025 9th Avenue. The orientation is an opportunity for those interested in seeking election to the Board of Education to better understand the expectations and duties of a Board of Education Director. Topics discussed will include legal definitions, meeting protocols, Board duties and responsibilities, and time commitment for serving.

Sponsors needed for School Kickoff Backpack giveaway
Greeley-Evans School District 6 is seeking sponsors for the 10th annual School Kickoff Community Celebration, to be held Saturday, August 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Island Grove Regional Park.

District 6 closed for Memorial Day; four-day work week
All non-charter schools and offices in Greeley-Evans School District 6 will be closed Monday, May 29 for the Memorial Day holiday. This includes the District 6 Administration Building. All District 6 facilities will reopen on Tuesday, May 30.

Colorado Association of School Boards School Election Seminar
CASB, in partnership with the Colorado Secretary of State's Office, will provide a school election seminar as a resource to our members and to potential school board candidates. This seminar will provide an overview of the School Director Election process - including the roles and responsibilities for boards, designated election officials (DEOs), and county clerks and recorders, candidate eligibility, and the petition process. Additionally, it will provide an overview of campaign finance - including committees, disclosure reports and filing requirements, contributions, and more.

Kindergarten Round-Up 2023-2024
Beginning Wednesday, March 8, kindergarten registration is open for all non-charter Greeley-Evans School District 6 schools for the 2023-2024 school year. Children must turn five years old by October 1, 2023 in order to register for kindergarten next year.
