Contracted with Finalsite to create an accessible website with embedded accessibility features that alert staff to inaccessible content and provide remediation guidance

Continuous Monitoring: Finalsite contains an embedded accessibility audit tool, AudioEye, which the district routinely utilizes to scan the website and provide ongoing accessibility feedback for remediation.

The district contracted with a third-party vendor, Mobikasa, to conduct a full accessibility audit of its entire website, including all non-charter school websites (500+ URLs completed), as well as several important electronic documents. The district has made changes to its website based on this audit and has communicated with Finalsite to address source code accessibility issues outside of the district’s control.

The district contracted with Grackle, a browser extension that assists to create accessible Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and PDFs, plus desktop remediation tools.

The district continues to use Adobe Accessibility checker for all portable documents and graphics.

Several in-depth trainings were provided to the district leadership team and content managers on creating and maintaining accessible web content. Trainings are ongoing and will continue to be addressed throughout the 2025-2026 school year and future years.

School and district sites designated building and department Accessibility Champions who receive ongoing training to serve as resources for accessibility questions and issues.

An all staff mandatory accessibility training was created and must be completed during the 2025-2026 school year. The training is incorporated into new hire onboarding for all future years. This is an annual requirement for all staff.

Developed a comprehensive software catalog and request system ensuring all software is reviewed for accessibility requirements.

Established an advisory committee to review software requests for accessibility and legal compliance.

Required all current and new vendors to provide accessibility compliance information, including Accessibility Conformance Reports (aka Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs)), or vendor questionnaires before approval.

Developed a new vendor procurement process that includes accessibility-specific language for each procurement request and made significant changes to the overall purchasing process to ensure compliance.

Actively working with vendors to address accessibility shortcomings identified in their VPATs and third-party audits

Vendor Collaboration: For example, working with Finalsite to address inaccessible features identified through third-party audit, with Finalsite actively working to resolve these issues.

Established an Accessibility Team consisting of Information Technology, Communications, Legal, Curriculum, and Finance Departments to oversee compliance efforts.

The district continues to work with Mobikasa to audit digital documents and provide accessible templates for future use.

Continuing to review the website and check all documents for accessibility, with immediate changes made upon request.

Developed EEAAPs for software and documents that are inaccessible, which are available upon request.

Where compliance would constitute an undue burden or fundamental alteration, formal determinations have been documented by the appropriate district leadership, which are available upon request.

Implementing procedures for regular testing and remediation of ICT, including utilizing extensions such as AudioEye, Grackle, JAWS, NVDA, screen readers, and Adobe accessibility checker to verify compatibility, as well as manually reviewing VPATs, the website, and working with vendors on improvements.
