Horizontal Advancement (HA)

  • Please take a few moments to make note of the HA process. If you have any questions regarding the HA process, please refer to the Master Contract under HA or contact Human Resources at 970-348-6070. 

     

    All forms must be submitted electronically in sequential order and within the same calendar year. Once you have submitted a form, within ten minutes, an email verifying your submission will be delivered to the email address entered on the form. Please retain these emails and/or print a copy of the verification email for your own records. 

    District 6 Pre-Approval Form

    For non-college transcripted, outside of D6 courses, not relevant to current assignment, credit for repeated/repetitive courses, books study, independent study, PLC, Building Level PD outside of contract time and CTE, AP, AVID, and IB as related to assignment.

Window 1 Fall Deadlines

    • September 15, 2023: Coursework complete
    • October 1, 2023: Verification of coursework and official transcripts due (college, university, and/or District 6)
    • October 1-15, 2023: HR review of intent to move, verification of coursework and official transcripts
    • October 15, 2023: Email status of horizontal advancement. If awarded, it is retroactive back to the start of the current school year contract. 

Window 2 Spring Deadlines

    • January 15, 2024: Coursework complete
    • February 1, 2024: Verification of coursework and official transcripts due (college, university, and/or District 6)
    • February 1-15, 2024: HR review of verification of coursework and official transcripts. 
    • February 15, 2024: Email status of horizontal advancement. If awarded, takes effect March of the current school year. 

Please Note:

    • Courses not relevant to current assignment or earned grades of D, F, or unsatisfactory will not be honored for horizontal advancement. 
    • Failure to submit all correct transcripts, and/or forms sent after the deadlines will not be considered for horizontal advancement. 
    • Horizontal advancement can only happen once per school year (fall or spring). 
    • Transcript must show degree conferred, if moving to a new degree column.
