Visiting Author Matt de la Peña in the GCHS Auditorium

The High Plains Library District is pleased to welcome teen author Matt de la Peña to Weld County.
In cooperation with GCHS and the GCHS Library, students will have the opportunity to meet Matt as he shares the story behind his journey from a reluctant reader in his youth to successful author of several critically acclaimed novels for teens.
He will be meeting with students in the GCHS Auditorium on Thursday, March 8 at 11:00 am.
He is the author of "I Will Save You", "We Were Here", "Mexican WhiteBoy" among others.  Matt de la Peña's debut novel, "Ball Don't Lie", was published by Delacorte in 2005.  The book was made into a major motion picture (to be released in the fall of 2011) starring Ludacris, Nick Cannon, Emelie de Ravin, Grayson Boucher, and Rosanna Arquette (Night and Day Pictures).  The book was named as an ALA-YALSA Best Book for Young Adults and an ALA-YALSA Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers.
