Update: School Reopening
This week, the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued new guidance for reopening schools this Fall. Many of our staff reviewed this information and took part in a webinar hosted by State Commissioner of Education Katy Anthes and Dr. Brian Erly, the lead epidemiologist for the CDPHE. Based on the guidance and additional information Dr. Erly provided, District 6 has developed school schedules for each level that will be in place for at least the first semester of school.

Backpack and Supply Drive-Thru
Due to COVID-19, Greeley-Evans School District 6 had to cancel its annual School Kickoff Community Celebration for 2020. However, our sponsors still came through in a BIG way and we have purchased 5,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for our students! These backpacks will be given out at a Drive Thru Backpack Giveaway on Wednesday, August 5, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Island Grove Regional Park. These backpacks will be given out to only District 6 students. Please write the name of your student or students, his or her school, and their student ID number on a sheet of paper and put that in the window of your vehicle as you enter the park. Entrance to the event is ONLY through 14th Avenue. Please do not line up early for this event. District 6 Nutrition Services will also be on hand to give out food bags to District 6 families. There are different backpacks for elementary and secondary students. One backpack per child! We look forward to seeing you August 5!
