Students who are dropped off in the drop off lane, should stay in the car until a Heiman staff member greets them at the car. They will then walk to the blacktop doors and enter the school through the back doors. They will follow the arrows on the floor around the library that will point them to their grade level hallway.
Students who arrive by bus will be greeted by a staff member as they get off the bus and will enter the building through the front door. They will follow the arrows on the floor around the library that will point them to their grade level hallway. Students who meet a special education staff member in the front of the building follow that same process as in the past.
Students who arrive by walking or are dropped off in the neighborhood and walk to school will enter the school through the back doors that we call the lost and found doors. They will follow the arrows on the floor around the library that will point them to their grade level hallway. We ask that these students try to time their arrival for as close to 7:45AM as possible.
Grab and Go breakfasts will be available for students to pick up in each of the grade level hallways. The first bell rings at 7:45 (8:45 on Mondays), the late bell rings at 7:50 (8:50 on Mondays). Students who arrive after the late bell will need to come through the front doors before going to class. Due to the virus, only students and staff are allowed in the building. Please make plans to say your goodbye to your child before they enter the building.
For dismissal at the end of the day. Kinder siblings will exit through the front doors. Everyone else will follow theri classes outside and either go to the pick up lane, find their bus or walk home. We ask that students make theri way to their final desitinations as quickly as possible. There is no playing on the blacktop or the playground at dismissal time because there are too many people around for that to be safe.
