Tell us about your greatest athletic achievement to date:

"Winning the City of Greeley Championships 3200m with my teammate in close pursuit."

What are your goals for this season?

"I want to qualify for state as a team, and go under 17:30 for the 5K."

How do athletics make you a better student?

"Running has taught me self-discipline and leadership, both of which translate directly to the classroom. I have an outlet to express myself, be with friends, and exercise. All of those factors help to relieve stress."

What mental tool do you use when you're under pressure?

"I think about small steps to achieve delayed gratification. In a race, this could be focusing on catching the next runner until I make it to the end of the course, or in school, this could be turning in an assignment or executing a step in a math problem. This helps me avoid breaking down and allows me to focus on the goal."

What is the best part about competing?

"I enjoy the friendliness between the different teams and the unprecedented level of sportsmanship at the meets."

What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?

"I want to study applied aviation and aerospace science."

What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?

"You might work hard, or you might not. Regardless, you should remember to be modest and respectful because, if you aren't, then there will always be someone to humble you. It will not feel good if you have an ego that's faster than you are."

What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing?

"'Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani."

What is your go-to Pre-Competition food?

"A banana and maybe a Clif bar."
