Register for Greeley West Community Tours Oct. 6, 12

Due to popular demand, Greeley-Evans School District 6 is opening additional tours of the new Greeley West High School, currently under construction to the west of the existing school at the intersection of 35th Avenue and 24th Street.

Tours of the construction site will last approximately 45 minutes and will have a maximum of 30 participants per time slot. Participants need to wear close-toed walking shoes and long pants. Hard hats and reflective vests will be provided. Some of the ground on the construction site is uneven, so please plan accordingly. Children must be at least 12 years old to attend.

Because of COVID-19 protocols, all attendees will be required to wear a mask on the tour.

Registration is required for all tours. Please sign up at this link:

Tours will be held:

  • Wednesday, October 6, at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 12, at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Participants will meet in the far west parking lot off 24th Street, adjacent to the football field, to the west of the construction site. Please look for the construction trailers and signs.

The rebuilding of Greeley West High School is one of many capital construction projects being funded through the 2019 bond issue. The new school is slated to open in the Fall of 2022. The existing Greeley West building will be torn down in the summer of 2022. The $124 million, 280,000-square-foot high school is the largest of the District 6 bond projects.

Other bond projects include a large addition and renovation of McAuliffe STEM Academy and Chappelow Arts Magnet K-8 School, the rebuilding of Madison Elementary School, the new Tointon Academy of Pre-Engineering currently under construction, safety and security upgrades at all schools, as well as new heating and ventilation systems, roofs, paint, flooring, ceiling tiles and asbestos removal at select schools.
