End of the Year Message 2022

Happy Last Day of school, District 6! It's been a fun week with end-of-year celebrations, field days, assemblies, award ceremonies, bridging ceremonies and graduations. I am sad that the weather doesn't appear to be cooperating for our outdoor graduations Friday and Saturday, but regardless, we will celebrate our graduates with grace and joy!

I just want to take a minute to thank you for allowing us to serve your children this year. It is a privilege and huge responsibility, and it is truly an honor. All our District 6 staff is committed to providing the best education possible for your children, and we will continue to work to improve the experience for all our students.

Of course, there have been challenges this year. COVID-19 continued to have a presence in our community, but we seem to be moving in the right direction. Some of your children have been in construction zones for much or all of the school year, and we are celebrating the successes of our bond work. Your children continue to show resilience as they have risen to all challenges, persevered and excelled. For this, I am incredibly proud and grateful.

I hope as you reflect on the school year, you will take some time to celebrate all your child or children have accomplished this school year. We have amazing students in District 6, and we are incredibly proud of their engagement in their learning. They bring us joy and we are grateful to serve them.

I hope all of you take time to rest and rejuvenate this summer, spend much needed time with family and friends, and enjoy the outdoors and all the activities the season has to offer. If you are joining us for summer school, we have some amazing programs and activities planned for your students. If not, we will be excited to welcome you and your children back in August.

Have a great summer!

Kind Regards,

Dr. Deirdre Pilch, Superintendent
