Livestream: Board of Education Special Meeting
The August 27th, 2021 special meeting of the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Board of Education will broadcast LIVE on our website and YouTube channel for the 4:00 p.m. special meeting.
The Board of Education has scheduled a Special meeting on Friday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Administration Building, 1025 9th Avenue. The first item on the agenda is for the Board of Education to go into a closed executive session for the purposes of meeting with legal counsel to receive advice on specific legal questions concerning compliance with governmental and health agency guidance regarding safe schools.
Following the executive session, at approximately 4:00 p.m. the Board of Education will publicly discuss the current COVID-19 protocols in place in District 6. This part of the meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed on the District 6 website and YouTube channel. Public comment will not be taken.
During these opening weeks of school, District 6 has seen a rapid increase of positive COVID-19 cases among students and staff. Unfortunately, this has resulted in quarantines at several schools, disrupting in-person learning for hundreds of students and burdening families. We are now requiring masks indoors for all students, staff and visitors at five district sites. The Delta variant is proving to be highly contagious among the unvaccinated, and we are seeing a few positive cases in those fully vaccinated. District 6 continues to meet regularly with health officials. The data in our community and the school district is monitored frequently throughout the day.
If any decisions are made during this public Board meeting, they will be communicated to families as soon as possible. Please check your email and text messages over the weekend.
We continue to appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this pandemic and the challenges it presents.
