Central gifted teacher wins lifetime achievement award
Dr. Amy Graefe, a gifted and talented specialist at Greeley Central High School, was given the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented at a special event Monday night.
Graefe has worked more than 22 years in public education. She has conducted research on effective programming options for gifted children and meeting the needs of underserved gifted and high-potential learners.
In addition to her work with gifted and talented students at Greeley Central, Dr. Graefe is also an associate professor of Gifted Education at the University of Northern Colorado. She is the director of UNC’s Gifted and Talented Center.
The 2023 Leadership Awards Night was part of the Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented state conference, held in Loveland Oct. 9.
