2022 Kids Eat Free Summer Food Program
Greeley-Evans School District 6 Nutrition Services will offer free meals to children 18 years of age or younger through The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The SFSP allows the district to provide free, nutritious meals to children at approved sites in areas with high concentrations of low-income children.
One in six children in Colorado does not have access to the foods they need to thrive. Kids that miss out on proper nutrition during the summer are more likely to experience learning loss and develop long-term health consequences.
Beginning May 23, both breakfast and lunch for any child 1-18 will be offered at four different locations throughout Greeley and Evans:
- Dos Rios Elementary, 220 34th St., Evans
- Heiman Elementary, 3500 Palermo Ave., Evans
- Monfort Elementary, 2102 47th Ave., Greeley
- McAulliffe STEM Academy, 600 51st Ave., Greeley
All locations are open Monday through Friday for breakfast from 8-9 a.m. and for lunch from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Summer classics like cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and of course, fresh fruits & vegetables will be on the menu. Adults wishing to join children may purchase meals for $2 for breakfast and $4.50 for lunch.
The Summer Food Service Program will end on August 5, 2022. More information, including menus, can be found at www.greeleyschools.org/kidseatfree and on Facebook @D6NutritionSerivces or Instagram @D6SchoolFood.
