District Accountability Committee (DAC) - 1st Meeting 9/28/2021

 

Parents,

I am looking for a representative for Central who would be willing to serve on the District Accountability Committee. You would represent Central and make recommendations to District Office level personnel regarding spending, protocols, etc.

The first meeting for the year is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 5:15 pm, and will be held in person at Greeley Central with an option to join virtually if needed (via Zoom). If you are attending in person, individually wrapped snacks and bottled drinks will be provided.

Below are the remaining meeting dates to mark your calendars:

  • October 19, 2021
  • November 16, 2021
  • January 18, 2022
  • March 22, 2022
  • April 19, 2022

If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please let me know. The first meeting is short notice; if you can't make it, that does not discount you from serving. These are the responsibilities:

DAC Responsibilities

  1. Recommending to its local school board priorities for spending school district moneys;
  2. Submitting recommendations to the local school board concerning preparation of the district’s Performance, Improvement, Priority Improvement or Turnaround plan (whichever is applicable);
  3. Reviewing any charter school applications received by the local school board and, if the local school board receives a charter school renewal application and upon request of the district and at the DAC’s option, reviewing any renewal application prior to consideration by the local school board;
  4. At least annually, cooperatively determining, with the local school board, the areas and issues, in addition to budget issues, that the DAC shall study and make recommendations upon;
  5. Providing input and recommendations to principals, on an advisory basis, concerning the development and use of assessment tools to measure and evaluate student academic growth as it relates to teacher evaluations;
  6. For districts receiving ESEA funds, consulting with all required stakeholders with regard to federally funded activities;
  7. Publicizing opportunities to serve and soliciting parents to serve on the DAC;
  8. Assisting the district in implementing the district’s parent engagement policy; and
  9. Assisting school personnel to increase parents’ engagement with educators, including parents’ engagement in creating students’ READ plans, Individual Career and Academic Plans, and plans to address habitual truancy.
